What should we expect from Left Alive? Here’s everything we know so far about Left Alive, from release date rumours to platforms and gameplay news. Oh, and check out the announcement trailer above too.

Left Alive release date rumours

As announced during Sony’s pre-Tokyo Game Show 2017 press conference, the upcoming Left Alive is set to be released in 2018 – but when in 2018 the game will appear is yet to be known. The fact that the announcement trailer (seen above) featured no gameplay and very little information suggests, to us at least, that development is nowhere near completion and we probably won’t be getting our hands on the game until the second half of 2018. We expect more information to become available at the beginning of 2018, or at E3 2018 at the latest.

Left Alive platforms and pre-orders

Left Alive was announced during a Sony press conference, suggesting that the game will be a PS4 exclusive – right? Wrong. Despite the fact that the game premiered during a Sony press conference, the game’s trailer confirms a PC variant is in the works – the Steam logo is clearly visible alongside the PS4 logo at the end of the announcement trailer. So, why announce it during a Sony presser? As is the case with other games that Sony has revealed during shows, it’s likely that Left Alive will provide PS4 players with exclusive features when compared to their PC counterparts. These features are yet to be announced, but judging by other game releases, expect to see (timed) exclusive weapons, DLC and more.

Left Alive gameplay news

So, what can we expect in terms of gameplay from Left Alive? Not as much as we’d like, admittedly. We do know that Metal Gear character designer Yoji Shinkawa is a part of the team, and that Toshifumi Nabeshima will head up the project as the director. The announcement trailer hints at a mech-action game, showcasing what appear to be mech suits being transported via military helicopter into a war zone. This makes sense, given that Nabeshima worked on both Armored Corse and Chromehounds, and although there is no gameplay shown in the trailer, the game is described as a “survival-action shooter”. Whatever it is, we can’t wait to find out more about it in the near future, and we’ll be sure to update this article as soon as news becomes available.
